Im just curious why, with all the beers from around the world available in Chicago, one would openly hunt down Yuengling. Shame.

Not sure, for some it just brings back memories. I have plenty available here, but went and got some leinenkugels summer wheat the other day for instance. Probably same scenario. Same reason sometimes I just want a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.

Nostalgia. That's about it. A middling beer if ever there was one -- the Leinenkugel's of the east coast.

I would not mind trying one of these-but I think it would taste better if I was out east.

Drinking one here would be like drinking an Old Style in L.A.

Holy. I am going to be all over that myself. It is worth a try for that price.

they also have a pilsner, I just bought some actually... good swill beer, drinkable, nothing great. It's good type of beer to drink if you are out mowing the lawn or something or good back up in case you have people over and run out.

here are some reviews...

A great $4 six pack from Trader Joe's. It beats anything by a major brewery and deserves a place in the fridge for a summer "Ah" refresher right when you need it.

A: Nothing special. Crystal clear straw to yellow with a spritzy head that dissipates in a minute or two.
S: Beer; it'll smell like a frat party when it warms and leaves the floor nice and sticky, too.
T: Beer; nothing complicated or subtle about it. It tastes like American beer, only more strongly and with more respect for its ingredients.
M: Like a Pepsi, it front loads a bunch of carbonation that fizzes out quickly. Very thin.
D: On a hot day I can imagine going through these quickly.

for freaking 2.99 a 6 pack yeah... i can't complain.

That's odd. I just came back from a weekned in Columbus, and the GF's brother-in-law to be is from West Virginia and mentioned he stocks up on Yuengling in WV when he visits because he couldn't find any Columbus.

I like Yuengling. I used to visit pals in Philly, and that's all they drank. That was a dozen years ago though. Leinie's of the east coast, as someone mentioned, might be spot on.
