Hey guys,
I am looking for a high rise apartment building in the River North/Gold Coast/Streeterville/possibly Loop area of Chicago. Do you guys have any buildings in mind that aren't too outrageous for a 1 bedroom or know of any leasing companies down there?
Thanks

Look for condo owners trying to rent their units to help cover their mortgage. Those are the best deals. I've heard of studios going for about $1000 with all utilities included.

City Life,

I just moved into a studio in Marina City (River North) and it costs me under $1000, with everything included except electricity (even satellite TV is included).

I HIGHLY recommend it. It's pretty rare to find places in this area for under a grand, but if you look diligently, you can find steals occasionally.

A 1-bedroom, however, will probably run you $1100-1200 BARE MINIMUM.

I agree with chitown; condo associations are a great first place to look.

You do know that River North/Gold Coast/Streeterville aren't the only GOOD neighborhoods in Chicago, right? Just checking.

Most high rise apartments are in good or decent neighborhoods. There are a few exceptions (like those in South Shore.)

I just found this thread looking for a thread that had info on Marina City. I'm thinking of moving in to a 1 BR in Marina City but I just wanted to know if anyone here has stayed or is staying in Marina City and how their experience is/was with the condos. Just need to know if anyone here that has had experience with em recommends it. Thanks.

A 1 bedroom in the most expensive neighborhoods is probably going to be outrageous depending on your standards. Entry level 1 beds in River North tend to go for $1400-$1500/mo. Nice ones closer to 1800-2000.

Pretty much. My 1 bedroom in the Gold Coast was just under $1400 for the last 2.5 years (although my rent decreased $60/month for this lease )

Zombie thread. tawfiqmp's question regarding Marina City is the only currently relevant one. The others are two years old.
