Default Chicago and NYC as a visitor

I spent three days in Chicago, Gurnee, and Lake View this week and I must say I really enjoyed it.
I live near NYC and I just can't stand NYC. I don't care what other people say about NYC, but I think it's a dirty, rude, noisy, overpriced, over crowded, and overhyped place.

I really had no complaints about Chicago and the surrounding areas. Everyone seemed friendlier, traffic wasn't so crazy compared to what I'm used to in NYC, and there were more interesting shops and things to see. I didn't feel that I had to rush everywhere. I didn't get to do all I wanted so I'll have to go back another day.

I especially enjoyed the lakeview area with all the unique shops.

I'm glad you like it, too! I am from a suburb near Gurnee and just moved from Lakeview last spring. I must say, when I went to NYC, many people called Chicago "the friendly city" when I told them that's where I was from. Good to hear!

We are more than thankful that you didn't let Gurnee influence you. Gurnee and neighboring Kenosha have the dubious distinction of being the outlet mall capital of the world.

You do know Lake View is in Chicago right?

What other neighborhoods in Chicago were you in?

heheh Yes I realized that after I wrote it. I meant to say Glen View.

But yes, the area of Lake View is where Clark st. is right? That area was cool and better than the so called "Village" in NYC.
