Eastlake terrace is good looking, unless u get your rims stolen or vandalized. there is enough sketchiness that filters into that area off howard stop to be worried about random crime. There has been a recent trend in the last month of targeting rims, specifically honda rims. Usual is to prop the car up on cinder blocks. Not to be negative but there were several in the last week. Not fun. I am not sure if it is GD or what or others coming in. Just keep an eye out if you are in the hood.

As for the topic I really like printers row for the more urban, as well as lincoln square, andersonville, ravenswood...

There are a lot of nice streets through lincoln park with mansions, etc, but... it is a bit too yuppiefied (in the wrong way) for me along the main strips.

Yep. The part of Rogers Park north of Howard Street is pretty craptastic when you get away from the lake a few blocks.

Belmont is really nice. Nice mix of restaurants, coffee shops, bars, clothing stores, and trinket stores.

Go there around 8 PM. Place is packed. Been meaning to go to Cloud 9 and try some of that Asian style ice cream(snow ice), but I've never gotten to it.

Not sure if this is all too commercial, or too Yuppie, to be considered "cute".

Not familiar with streets in North Chicago, but like right as you are exiting the Belmont Red line train station. There's a whole strip of little odd shops, bars, restaurants, clothing stores, and cafes. Pretty much in the Belmont and Clark and Belmont and Halsted junction from looking at Google maps.

In the terms of what the Topic starter stated, I thought those few blocks were pretty cool

The 4700 block of N. Dover in Uptown is pretty interesting, and cute. Some large houses with big lawns in the middle of a very urban area.
