Uh-oh, the Sierra may be an issue. In many wards you cannot park a pickup truck on a residential street after 6pm. You'll need to park it on a main thoroughfare, one without meters or rush-hour parking restrictions. Or, just pay to park at the hotel. Also, you are not allowed to drive it on streets that are designated "boulevards" but I don't know that it's strictly enforced anywhere but Lake Shore Drive. So don't take Lake Shore Drive even if your GPS tells you to.

As for unloading, the hotel will almost certainly have a loading zone in front of it that you can use while you're dropping off and picking up your stuff. [ETA: just did a Google Street View and confirmed there is a loading zone in front of the hotel.]

Thanks for that information! It looks like I'll just be paying to park at the hotel. It is customer only parking right? If that's easier, we'll definitely just park there. And I'm glad there is a loading zone. Looks like things are gonna be somewhat easier than I thought.

Glad this is a "safe" part of town too! 10 minute or so walk to Wrigley won't be an issue for us. We definitely know not to be flashing money around, walking by ourselves, or just doing dumb things that would make us an easy target for something.

You walk a mile in ten minutes? That is 6 miles an hour. Last time I looked most humans walk just under 3 miles an hour.

The distance from Cornelia and Southport to the City Suites is 0.93 miles.

Its a short walk to wrigley from city suites. I've lived in lakeview for 3 years.

Your BEST bet is to find someone with zoned parking passes. Anyone who lives in lakeview should have them.

The dude was talking about walking from Cornelia and Southport to the City Suites-not Wrigley Field to the City Suites.

Nice call on the truck angle ..was thinking of that reading thru the thread .. Chicago is not necessarily truck ( even pickup) friendly , so .. avoid boulevards .. and do watch the parking in residential areas with it ..

That area where you will be (Wrigleyville), is one of the best neighborhoods in Chicago in my opinion.

Is it Lake View? Whatever that area is around Wrigley Field I've walked around there a couple of times and I loved it.
