All the Aldermen of Robbers Park have been to the left of Communism. David Orr was and Joe Moore is. That is because the Democratic Organization over there is a bunch of far left radicals- many of them veterans of the Days of Rage in the 1960s- that sit around the Heartland Cafe everyday still dreaming about a socialist utopia!

Watching Penn and Teller rip Moore a new a-hole on national television was a tasty treat.

Don't move to Rogers Park, I considered living there hell on earth. I was West of Clark only a few blocks and that wasnt far enough. Touhy and Ridge. The Eastern Orthie Jewish part is a lot better.

Crime up the whazoo, gangbangers, gunshots at night, homeless, the whole mess.

I couldnt wait to get out. I sometimes wondered if my experience of Chicago would have been different if I had lived in nicer neighborhood but I ended up there due to poverty and having to pay cheaper rent in the mid 90s.

Ironically ive heard the rents have fallen.

I know people who have been mugged at Rogers Park, over on Sheridan and Howard to be exact, just like two or three blocks before you hit the giant cemetery with the large apartment complex in front of it. Funny thing is, the rich side of the Evanston suburb is right on the other side of the cemetery. Chicago always amazes me how you can be in the worst neighborhood in the city on one block but turn the corner and your in the ritziest part of the whole metro area.

Chicago is not the only city that's like that. In Baltimore, for instance, Guilford (nicest) is one block away from Greenmount (worst)

Rogers Park is far from the worst neighborhood in the city.
