Let me preface this by saying please hold on the bashing, as I'm very aware of the negative aspects of Wal-Mart. Very aware.
Anyway, I work for WM and I'm looking to transfer to the Chicago area. The way I understand it is that the WM in the city is in an unfavorable area(North Ave and Cicero).? Are there other WM's in the city and if not what are the nicer ones outside of the city or at least ones that are in nice, Caucasian areas that would be a reasonable commute from the city? Not racist just preference. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Default Must be a Joke Topic

Vernon Hills.....it's very white out there. Here's a better idea- instead of asking us why don't you go to the Walmart website and type in areas where you think most white people live and shop

Vernon Hills (Townline rd or RT 60)
Hodgkins (LaGrange and Joliet rd)
Niles (Touhy)
Orland Park (159th street)

Been there, but I'm not from Chicago, don't know who lives where. That's why I came to the you guys.

Let me also specifiy, a nice store in a safe area is the most important, as I would have to work late into the evening and be commuting alone. Thanks for the responses.

The only Walmart in the city is the one in Austin by North Ave and Cicero.

In terms of safety I would go with the Vernon Hills,Hodgkins,Niles,Orland Park as mentioned before.

There are none. You have to go well out into the suburbs, like, bordering exurb territory, before you start finding Walmarts that don't suck a chubby.

Bwahahahaha. Funniest question I've seen all week.

Vernon Hills Walmart is in a pretty safe area. The people who shop there are the same people that shop at any Walmart. And by commute I assume you mean drive because there isn't much 'commuting' going on outside of the city that isn't being done in cars. You certainly couldn't get to Walmart in Vernon Hills from the city by public transportation, especially on shift hours.

Why don't you work for target instead? There's lots of those in the city -- including plenty where all those wonderful white people live.
