The Official "Best Italian Restaurant in Chicagoland" thread
OK, let's go a bit more high-brow with the next poll. Keep the recommendations coming, soon I'm sure we'll be regarded as highly as the Zagat survey.

Is this reserved for Chicago only, or do the burbs count? Lord forbid I bring up suburban restaurants. LOL

Maybe its my Anglo roots but i have a hard time being conviced that Italian food of any sort is a "delecacy"

Again, this is "Chicagoland" so anywhere around the area is allowed. And pandabear, you've obviously not been to the right restaurants.

There are many wonderful Italian places in Chicago. One of my faves is Leona's on North Sheridan Rd

Leona's is all over Chicago, and in some near suburbs too. Got one here in Irving Park.

Piccolo Mondo at 56th and Cornell, right across the street from the museum. I've always had a good experience at the place.

Is Sabatino's still there on Irving Park east of Cicero ?
Excellent food, huge portions and a family run place.
