Question about a neighborhood (greenview & devon ave) (Chicago: house, elementary school)

I use to live on Greenview just south of Devon Ave. Back in the mid-70's it was a diverse neighborhood with a developing Pakistani population. I attended Hayt Elementary School. Can't remember if the neighboorhood was a safe one back then or not. Just wondering how it is now? Is it becoming gentrified? Haven't seen it in 30 years. Can anyone tell me? Been thinking about Chicago...

I worked at National grocery store that was 1400 Devon back in the 70s. I hung out at Connellys and Jokers Pub. I would stay out until 2 AM and think nothing of walking home a mile or so at 2AM. So the neighborhood was pretty good 30 years ago. My Mom stayed in the neighborhood and she died last year. We came back to fix up her house and I still walked around the neighborhood at night but I was more careful after dark.
