Default Is the mayoral race already over?

Are DelValle, Chico and Braun just wasting their money? It just seems to me that other than a few areas of the southside or maybe westside, that Rahm is going to win in a landslide.
Considering the public silliness that Braun has been talking the last few days regarding the parking deal, her tax returns, the comments on Steinberg, she doesn't seem like a level headed person at all.
Rahm must be sitting back enjoying this show.

My favorite is that she said she's going to cancel the parking meter lease deal.

Oh. That's nice.

Has anyone told her it's a legally binding document, and you can't just yell "do'over".

Or....maybe that we already spent the $1,100,000,000. Have fun coughing up that money to repay them when you cancel the deal.

Yes, she's clearly pandering to public stupidity. I like her solution of 'sue them all'. Just what we need, more idiots thinking that you don't have to live up to your responsibilities, in this case, is abiding by the contract Daley signed.

The company that owns the parking deal I'm sure would love to redo the deal......at a hefty premium.

Just think: Chico will come off as played out and DelValle will emerge as a breath of fresh air. DelValle then puts together a coalition of independent-minded folks.

Now, with a little of the sub rosa antisemitism on the north side (remember when Rahm ran for Congress?) and a significant verbal lapse by Rahm, we may have a genuine horse race.

why antisemitism from the north side? not saying it's not the case, i'm just wondering which ethnicity up here would fall into your scenario. i'm relatively new to the city and am still amazed at how so many different groups have carved out their own section of the city.

Rahm Emmanuel will be the next mayor. No one is strong enough to challenge him.

Rahm is the only one with the personality to run a city like Chicago. I don't think the other three are up to the job.

Braun is a populist, who whill definitely get some votes. She could even win. But she'd be a disaster as mayor.

I'd like to see more of Chico. So far he seems quite competent, but perhaps more of a behind-the-scenes kind of guy than a leader.

I don't think Del Valle has a chance. I guess we'll see.

No wonder Braun didn't want to release her tax returns. So she is either an absolute financial disaster who can't even keep her own house in order. FOUR mortgages on a house! Sure lets hand her the keys to the City. Or the other is that she is using every underhanded accounting trick known to man to avoid paying taxes and keeping all her money to herself. Either scenario is disgusting and goes to show yet again what a disgusting lack of choice is available to the voter.
