I do understand that Chicago may not be the best place for you, but without knowing each of us individually, how can you give such condemning advice for people not to move there? I must vehemently disagree with your post! My wife and I will move moving to Chicago in the next month. We see Chicago as a city of diversity, opportunity and growth. We chose Chicago over many other cities that we had offers from. Some of these cities were better offers on paper, but none of them had the intangible "feel" of home that Chicago offered us. I sure that we will encounter some of the "problems" that you mentioned. We expect that. We are also leaving a set of problems that we believe impair our quality of life to a MUCH GREATER degree.
On the whole I must agree with the posters who said that your attitude seems to be much more wrapped up in who you are and your perspective. (Not that I am disagreeing with any incidents of racism that you have experienced!) If you see a better opportunity (real or perceived) for yourself...then TAKE IT!!! That is exactly what we are doing in our move TO Chicago!

You\\\\\\\'re right the crime here is so bad that I had to dodge the bullets on my way into work from where I parked my car while I was being pestered by those filthy tornado stricken bums with their knives in my face just begging for money! While I was in my car though on my way into work I had to swerve to avoid hitting the train car that fell off the L tracks above me. (screeeeeeccchhh) And earlier never mind me staring out the window of my own car while I\\\\\\\'m sitting stopped in traffic on the Ryan looking at the Sears Tower and the rest of the skyline for that matter because nobody can see it, it doesn\\\'t exist! And its a good thing I wore my respirator today because I wouldn\\\\\\\'t want to have breathed in the toxic fumes the flowers that line Michigan Avenue or LSD throw off. That Daley, polluting our air with those nasty filthy trees and flowers! ***** Hole! And it\\\\\\\'s a good thing that I live out in the burbs so I can enjoy white supremasism at it\\\\\\\'s best, I\\\\\\\'m sure glad there is no diversity out here; you know towns like Harvey, Richton Park, Joliet, Markham, Midlothian, yep no culture or diversity here, just all white soccer moms driving in their SUV\\\\\\\'s with their White Sox stickers on them! Well since we all know that LA is soooooo safe and clean with nice crisp air to breathe (again LMFAO!) then maybe you should move out there. If Chicago is the "City of Broad Shoulders," what are NYC and LA?

I've survived ice storms and hail storms in the past half dozen months. LA can't handle a little rain!

Get used to it. Alot of the LA folks are out for blood, as am I. I defend Chicago and point out facts, then get neg. feedback for it.

NYC is great, no doubt about it. People there are quite awesome. LA? The exact opposite.
