But in this case Bourdain is absolutely correct. Oh and as somebody who's entire family hails from Chicagoland, I'm extremely perplexed as to why there have been so many attempts to drag Orlando down simply because Chicago didn't make the list. And who really cares about a list from a web site most of us are rather unfamiliar with. I understand the frustration people from Chicago face on a daily basis when their city is vastly underrated, needlessly bashed, or even compared with NY for some god awful reason. However, some on this board have returned the favor to another underrated, misunderstood city, that has way more going for it than a theme park or two.

With all due respect, any list of this nature that includes Orlando and not Chicago needs to be dismissed with prejuduce.

Uhh maybe if the list was for "Best Food Cities", "Cities with History", "Cities with Museums," or if it was simply entitle "10 must visit for urban reasons". However if we are talking "must visit" for other reasons then I think Orlando can certainly be included as it is the most visited location in the United States. You don't have to like it, you don't have to even think it's a real city, I could honestly care less. But there's no arguing that we are a top leisure market and could easily be contained on said list. Now the exclusion of Chicago still strikes me as harsh and I do agree that the list should be thrown out the window.

Tell me why. Make your case.

I did make my case as for why Orlando should be included. Did you see the part where I said it's the most visited location in the United States?? That was my case, take it or leave it. I personally think that yes you can include such a popular destination on a list of "must visit" places.

^Yes but you said the city of Orlando has more going for it than the theme park. From everything I can tell that's quite the stretch. I'm happy to hear why I'm wrong though. So tell me, what do you love about Orlando? What else, other than Disney, would be worth coming for?

I need more than it being the most visited place in the US. If was a list for "Must-visit" not "Most popular vacation destinations" I might be OK with your reasoning.

If it were the latter at least it would be based on facts and not the arbitrary musings of some anonymous internet idiot. And Chicago would be on it.

There are far more charming and interesting places in Florida than Orlando; a city which fits Tom Wolfe's term of a "rube Valhalla". I blow right through Orlando on the way from Sarasota to St. Augustine; both places which are IMO FAR better than Orlando. Such as having some history. And BEACHES. I'm big on beaches when I'm in Florida; Orlando is like Peoria in that regard.

I don't know anyone I've ever met who talked up going to Orlando for any reason except a few people who went to Disney stuff. I'd hardly say it's a "must see"!!! San Diego is another that confused me. Been there multiple times and was pretty bored.
