I had to shovel three foot of snow in some areas.

The Brown Line is out between Kimball and Western. For some reason the info is not on the CTA website yet. Hmmm.

“We are going to be running all train lines but we do have a power problem on the Brown Line,’’ according to Gaffney who said there is no service between Kimball and Western. A train shuttle is in place that will run from Western to Belmont, and there is service to the Loop from Belmont, Gaffney said.

Blizzard dumps 17.1 inches at O

And the Yellow Line is out.

There is an upside to all this drifting - my walkway and most of my sidewalk are completely snow free. The other side of the street is a VERY different story.

The snow in the front yard drifted against the fence, but there's maybe 6-12" there. The backyard has a few 5' drifts and has 2-3' coverage on average.

I know one thing, it is going to be very difficult to get to the garbage cans in the alleys for quite a while.

And here the snow comes again...

Yeah I had a good 5 foot drift on my back door 3 stories up.... couldn't even see the stairs, I could have slid down them on my arse.

Definitely some 4-5 foot drifts going on, I'd say easily 2 feet depth in most places b/c of the blowing. Some of the cars on the street have snow drifts next ot them almost to their roof.

The total at O'Hare (which is the official read for the whole city) is now 19.5

I would not doubt if much of the city has more than that.

If it keeps going at this rate we will break the all time record.

On another note, the temperature forecast has changed dramatically over the last day. The NWS is saying the low tonight is supposed to be -10! With a wind chill of -26! I thought it was not going to get really cold until tomorrow night!

At least 20 inches here in Barrington. I've never seen so much snow in my entire life.

The humorous part of this picture is that we have a balcony above this deck and even have a roof (keeps it dry when it rains) between the two decks. All I know is that I'm not going out there for awhile...
