I have tried to tell this to people before, the records are misleading after the official measuring site was moved to O'Hare. I don't doubt at all it is over 20" by the lake.

This pics confirm to me that the total is well over 20" near the lake:

It took the city a few days to clear the main streets really good in 1999. This time they seem to be doing much better.

Default I was hating life at about this point

My wife was being very helpful, by taking pictures of me battling Mother Nature.

Mother Nature wins, I'm staying inside the rest of the day.

Here are some pics from Albany Park/ Ravenswood Manor. I've never seen dibs around here before, but it's bad enough for it now, I suppose. Also, all of the side streets in the Manor have not seen a snow plow AT ALL. I went to check on my car, and it looks like a 3 foot drift has swallowed it. FML.

In 1999, a Foremost Liquor store on Cicero, by Belmont, had their small parking lot cleared, the pile was about 15 feet high. As the weather warmed the snow melted, but it wasn't until mid-May before that pile was all gone.

I think Tony needs to go work for wgn. Goodness man, how long have you been up? LOL

My car is hella trapped in the garage and probably will be for a good while. Thank goodness I live right on a bus line if I absolutely HAD to travel. I'm going to attempt to dig a narrow trench to my garage this afternoon before the deep freeze tonight. Hopefully if they don't make us work tomorrow, I'll attempt a trench for the front walk and stairs.

I'd like to go dig my car out, but the hardware store is closed. No shovel = no work. I fear I may have to take the bus to work tomorrow.
