Right now I'm a teenager, but when I graduate from college in about 7 years I want to move to Chicago. I've went in the summer last year, & came back again on winter break of last year. I absolutely fell in love with it! I want to be a nurse, & I know there are some good hospitals in the area. What are the neighborhoods of Chicago, & which ones would be suitable for what I am looking for? By the way, I really love downtown and Wicker Park. My style is pretty average, but I love shopping downtown and at vintage stores also. I'm really into independant music, and love looking at art (paintings, photography, etc.) Ha, this is just for fun but I really would like to know where I'd fit in best. Thanks!

Also, I'm looking for a safe but not expensive area of Chicago. & I live in Indianapolis, Indiana right now.

Wicker Park is hipster central. You didn't specifically state what you were looking for, other than you like art and music, therefore we won't be able to give you an idea of where to look.

Not to mention, it really isn't worth looking right now if you have 7 years to go. That's a long time, and with how quick neighborhoods are changing, any response we give you may not be accurate in 7 years.

Ha, I know I have a while to go, but it's still fun to dream about where I want to live someday.(:

Indianapolis is a cool city, I agree with the sentiments from the earlier poster that Wicker Park would be a nice fit. I'm only 20, Chicago's a great city for young people, a lot of excitement and a lot to do and see.

Ditto. I've lived here 15, going on 16, years, and I've witnessed neighborhoods changing virtually overnight. Some areas are not at all anything like they were when I first moved here, and even my part of town (Lakeview) has changed quite a bit, although it's still recognizable. Who knows what the next hip area will be seven years hence?
