You are the one that brought up community areas instead of the neighborhoods.

I am done with you.

It's not "instead of." Which you'd know if you weren't so determined revel in your own ignorance.

Community areas are the official name....there are 77 of them...has been pretty much the same since the 1920s. It's impossible to run data sets on neighborhoods, or really, get much done b/c they don't have defined political boundaries like the Commuunity area's do.

Check out the bottom graphics of racial distribution. It's crazy to visualize the Hispanic takeover of the NW and SW sides.

And of course, whites leaving everywhere else and flocking into the near west side, downtown and north side. East Rogers Park saw a nice increase of white people? crazy.

Blacks are moving out of the city, particularly in poor areas like Austin.

I don't have the numbers yet for Humboldt Park, but hispanics seem to be pushing south of grand.

No doubt there's more going on on the North Side but the only time I need to go north is for my favorite hi-fi shop (on Belmont) and to see a play once in awhile. And to visit friends of course, I have friends all over the city. Otherwise I find all I need either downtown or on the South Side.

For instance who needs Kuma's when you have the Illinois Bar and Grill on 47th? And for Blues the Harlem Ave. Lounge is grittier and more local than any of the North Side Blues bars. Thats a couple of joints you might want to come down from your side of town to visit. And the Voodoo Lounge on 79th too. And the Carolinka.

The thing is we have this huge city here and it IS very diverse and it offers many experiences and adventures.
