I found out about the hostel downtown and I decided to stay there. It's less than $40 a night and breakfast is included. It has great reviews on tripadvisor.com. It's around the corner from Grant Park and a block from the Harold Washington Library. I canceled my Motel 6 reservation, of course.
Thanks for your input everyone! |

Now all you have to do is get from O'Hare to your hostel. Take the subway (Blue Line) downtown to Clark Street and get a cab the remaining six blocks. Or take the subway to the LaSalle street stop and walk the two blocks!
The subway costs $2.00 a pop. There is also an airport bus to the Palmer House which is only three blocks from the hostel. I don't know what that bus costs. |

Thanks! I just did a google search for the Palmer House bus. It's $25. I like the LaSalle St. option. I can walk those 2 blocks with my suitcase.
