That's interesting, but makes sense, considering they would want to attract fans that can relate. Although, wasn't Sammy Sosa of Dominican descent? There's only a few Dominicans in Chicago. I will admit though I don't know if he played for anybody else before the Cubs, as I don't follow baseball.

Well usually they try, but they don't always get what they want. I think it was mroe evident in that lecture when they explained that the Red Sox have a baseball camp in the Domincan Rebpublic and I think New York Yankees in Venezuela. I don't remember the details, but it definitely seems that they to get certain players based both on their skills and ethnicities.
