Humboldt Park/Logan Square around North Ave and Artesian
I've read a few threads posted about a year ago warning people to be careful about the West BuckTown area which pretty much is East Hum park. Is it really that bad now? I found a nice place around Artesian and North Ave which is a Block west of Western Ave. Seems like it's a decent up and coming area with lots to offer with fare rent. Anyone live in this neighborhood now? How bad/safe is it walking around the area and south to the Merta and north or east to the Blueline? I would def try and avoid going to far West of Artesian.
Any comments would be appreciated.
Thanks

You should be OK at that address, but you're pretty much right on the dividing line between hipsterville and 'hood. Keep an awareness of your surroundings (especially at night), go east rather than west if you feel like taking a stroll, and you should be fine.

Artesian and North is fine, I live on Maplewood and North, and nothing to worry.

Do you have cable? Comcast? I'm so pissed RCN doesn't service my area. They have some great deals right now for 1 yr.

I think it's fine... although I've got some friends that live 1 block west and have had 2 shootings this summer in front of their house.
Just be careful and don't walk too far west by yourself at night.

Where on Cambell? So far so good but I never go west after dark lol But my street/east is not too bad. The cops are always patroling which is good to see. Only problem I'm facing now is these stupid tickets I keep waking up to.

Well if you are north of North Ave over there you are in Logan Square. If you are south of North Ave over there you are in Humboldt Park.

AF= Wrong, Bloomingdale ave runs just south of the old rail line, which is the official boundary of Logan Square, meaning North of North Ave, you are STILL in Humboldt Park for 2 blocks. Just like south of Armitage, we apparently still run south for a measly two blocks...
BUT you are on the border of LS, Bucktown, and Wicker Park....

No I am not wrong.
Community area boundaries and Neighborhood boundaries are two different things.
Logan Square the neighborhood goes to North Ave. Logan Square the community area goes to Bloomingdale.
