Today is my last day in Chicago. I am moving to St. Louis to take care of my grandmother. It's bittersweet, but family comes first. I have been wanting a change for a while, and I am looking forward to being closer to family, but I really am going to miss this city. It's a time in my life I will never forget.

I have Chicago schools to thank for 1 associate degree, 2 bachelor degrees, 1 master degree (95% finished), and for the desire to pursue PhD which I just may do in St. Louis. I also gained a ton of experience while working for the Merc while I was in school, and this will probably lead to a financial trading position in St. Louis.

I learned so much here. I am so thankful for my time here, and I wish you all the best.

Best of luck to you! Life is so full of tough choices. In a perfect world my SO and I would have stayed in Chicago at least a few more years, but we just couldn't make it work.

But after a year and a half in KC, the juxtaposition of Chicago and Kansas City makes St. Louis feel all the more like home.

I think it is wonderful that you are going to take care of your grandmother. Good luck with your move and hope you enjoy St. Louis.

Thanks so much for the well wishes. The good thing is that St. Louis is only 4 hours away, so I can always visit Chicago. Especially in cases of emergency, like the Cubs making the playoffs.

Good luck. Hey, if HSR gets funded, you will only be one hour away, so it wont be that bad.

Well looking at the bright side, this is the time of year where you might catch a day that it's 35 degrees in Chicago, and 60 in St. Louis. Then we'll envy you... for a day. :]

Look on the bright side, no longer will 1/3 of your tax dollars be going toward corruption! (Assuming you live on the Missouri side.)

All the best to you too. You will be missed greatly. May you always have walls for the winds, a roof for the rain, tea beside the fire, laughter to cheer you, those you love near you and all your heart might desire.
