Taco Burrito Place serves Americanized Tacos with cheese, sour cream, lettuce, tomatoes, and onions - my style rather than La Pasidita. I live near La Pasidita but I'd rather go to Taco Burrito Place.

yuck, sounds like 5th grade cafeteria tacos or something a Taco Bell pack from Dominick's recommends for a fun family get together.

I've eaten at the Los Nopales joint Atrill mentioned and it was fan-freakin'-tastic.

Can't believe I haven't tried Chilapan yet, considering how close it is.

I've never understood those Taco Bell packaged deals. By the time you procure the other ingredients (meat, fresh tomatoes, sour cream, lettuce and cheese) it ends up costing way more than just driving by to Taco Bell. That's not family fun where I come from.

El Tapatio. Very good al pastor.

I'm w/ grapico, there is no good Mexican food in Lakeview. I've had better steak tacos from the grill outside of the Cermak Produce in Humboldt Park compared to the nasty tacos places in Lakeview serve up for twice the price. A friend of mine swears that the steak tacos at the little place near the Belmont stop is great, but I've never tried it and he tends to only go there after drinking, so his word is iffy

Lake View is a HUGE neighborhood. Have you been to every place that serves Mexican food in Lake View?

Seems unlikely that there is no good Mexican food in Lakeview. Also, the OP seems to like americanized Mexican. Lettuce and tomato?
