Default Where to meet Firefighters in Chicago and burbs?

Almost a year ago my boyfriend of 5 years walked out on me for another woman after I was diagnosed with cancer. I am doing better and moving on but I have suprisingly lost most of my friends too and work a lot. I am interested in meeting single firefighters. Ok laugh, but who do you know that is more dedicated, and after what I went through, dedicated is what I need. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Bar hopping alone is not a lot of fun, so maybe some place else?

Hmmm...
I know this is a bar, but...

115 Bourbon Street in Merionette Park is right on the border of Mt. Greenwood, which is a huge cop-firefighter neighborhood. It's at the corner of 115th Street and Kedzie. Thery have a lot of benefit party-nights there for different causes, including bucks for burn camp, which firefighters do, I think. Maybe they need volunteer help?

In all honesty, thinking all firefighters or cops are attractive and dedicated is dillusional.

You do know that compared to other careers, firemen have one of the highest divorce rates?

There's a BIG firestation at Illinois and Dearborn. Walk by the big red doors in a short skirt for a few days in a row, and in time you will meet several firefighters. Also, this station has the offices of the big wigs above it, so these firefighters make more money than your average civil servant (you should see some of the cars they drive).
