Uno/Due is the most overrated crap I have ever eaten. The crust tastes like it comes out of a Pillsbury can. Completely and uttery unremarkable. Let the tourists have it.

I agree. Uno sucked bigtime. I only ate there once (relucatantly too) and was sorely disappointed. If people out of state think that is Chicago's best, theyve got another thing coming.

Uno's sucking? I haven't been there in 10 years or so--maybe it's taken a turn for the worse then. Or maybe I had too much beer last time I was there, but it was fantastic

I'd put both Malnati's and Gino's East over Uno/Due.

I always thought the original-location Uno's/Due were not bad, but nothing special, and definitely not on par with Gino's and Lou's (and I'll add the criminally overlooked Edwardo's to the list of top-tier local stuffed-pizza chains). But the big problem with Uno's is that their franchise locations are uniformly horrid and they've been lousy ambassadors for Chicago pizza to the rest of the country. And even worse is the jack-mopes who started that Old Chicago chain... UGH! (I know, I've done this rant in a different thread already, but... well, too bad.) They're not even based out of Chicago -- they're based out of Denver. (And not surprisingly, they're the same crumbs who operate the aptly named "Rock Bottom" brewpub chain). The fact that there's only one "Old Chicago" in the entire Chicago area should tell you all you need to know about its authenticity.

Home Run Inn is very good for regular crust pizza.

Funny you mention Old Chicago. My family in Phoenix goes there and loves it. LOL Ive never been there myself, but when he comes back home to IL to visit and goes to Genos, his eyes roll back in his head, followed by "mmmmmmm". He then proclaims just how much better the food is here than there. Old Chicago my arse.... What the heck does Colorado know about pizza?
