Hello,
I am new to Chicago. I moved here just 2 months back and liked it so much that decided to buy a condo and stay here for a long period. I have shortlisted a condo on W Aldine Ave in Lakeview.
Does anyone have any idea about this street? Is it decent? Will you recommend it?

Thanks,
Rohit

great neighborhood- i used to live just north of there and loved lakeview!

Positives:
Fun bars/nightlife
Lots of great restaurants, huge variety!
Nearby shopping, can pretty much walk to a lot of places (Jewel, Marshalls, little boutiques, etc)

Negatives:
Traffic/Parking- do you have a parking spot in your bldg? street parking is awful. Traffic is bad, esp in Cubs season.
Noiselevel - you're right in the heart of Boystown, which means lots of partiers, especially around Gay Pride Parade. Depending on your age/way of life, this could be good or bad

Welcome to Chi-town!

Perfectly nice area. You probably know that it's in the thick of Boystown, which can draw a pretty boisterous crowd, but I think the side streets are quiet enough.

There is a problem around there. It is called lack of street parking.

Yeah, I was going to mention that, but I think the side streets are zoned residential until you get to Broadway, which makes it a tiny bit easier for residents to park. Plus there's a chance the condo may have parking or the OP may not have a car... It's an easy neighborhood to go carless.
