3. Shedd Aquarium

5. Soldier Field
6. Wrigley Field (even though I'm an Astros fan)
7. Comiskey Park (even though the White Sox swept the 'Stros in the 2005 World Series. That was painful to watch.)
8. Navy Pier
9. Buckingham Fountain
10. Lake Michigan

Does anyone have any other suggestions about things to add? I'm pretty sure there most be more than 10 places.

1. The Sears Tower*

Why not also the Field Museum and Museum of Science and Industry.

How long will you be in Chicago for?

Oh, okay! I knew they renamed it the Willis Tower. I wasn't sure whether or not they changed it back to the Sears Tower. The commitment is for a year. If I like the Windy City, I might stay longer. Who knows?

It wasn't changed back, people just don't call it that.

I asked because if the lockout ends then seeing the Bulls and Bears,as well as the Hawks might be something you'd be interested in seeing.

Summer festivals in Grant Park are always enjoyable as well.

That's fine! I can see, either. I'll even see a Cubs or White Sox fan. They can't tell I'm from Houston or that I'm an Astros fan just by looking at me. Besides, it's just a damn baseball game. It's not like the White Sox bombed Minute Maid Park or set up an organized crime ring in my hometown when they swept the Astros that year. They outplayed them is all. To be honest, I was happy as hell the 'Stros even made it. Granted, it would've been nice had they won, but at least the victor was someone who hadn't won since 1917 - long before the Astros were ever inaugurated into the MLB. Had they lost to the Yankees, that'd be another story.

The locals were nasty and belligerent, and they didn't like outsiders. I'm not going to live somewhere where I'll feel like a pariah. I didn't feel that way when I was in L.A. because half the people there are all transplants. Fairbanks, Alaska, is too cold, and there are no job opportunities there. Plus, the population in Alaska is ten men for every woman, so that's a guaranteed deal breaker.
I dont think Houston is # 4 anymore.

It is still. Philadelphia isn't number 5 anymore, though. That title has now shifted to Phoenix. Regardless, big city atmospheres are nothing foreign to me.

If all I have to do is work there eight hours a day, that's a small price to pay. It's not like being stuck with people whose heads you want to bash 24/7 like it is in the military. A large chunk of my student loans get forgiven as well which is what enticed me to go in the first place. Not to mention, jobs are hard to come by in this economy as a recent college graduate.
No, but the amount of money the program will give you to live on will force you to live in an area similar to that, as well as having to apply for food stamps. Unless you have some savings, but if you did, then you could get a minimum wage job, and make double what the program would give you.

Actually, housing is already provided for this program. I'll be living in a farm house in Northern Illinois. Also, I'm 100-percent insured with medical and dental insurance. This forgives a large chunk of my student loans as well and helps me big time one of my goals which is to be debt free in two years. This is a big headache they're helping me get rid of. Believe me, if they were going to feed me to the wolves like that, I would've declined on this job. One thing I'm good at is asking questions. I'll ask as many as it takes until I get all the information I need. They won't let you work a second job with some AmeriCorps assignments either because this is a commitment.

Does anyone know a good place where I can find New York style pizza in Chicago? FYI - I love the thin crust kind you can fold as well. There's no doubt I'm going to try the stuffed crust, but let's not forget New Yorkers make awesome pizza as well.
