Ignore Chet, unless you live in Naperville or LaGrange, you're putting your life at risk.

You've officially fallen off your rocker. You are of zero value to the Chicago forum, congratulations.

You probably could have picked a more fun area. Odonovans is good but is mostly upper 20's crowd. Your are in Northcenter. Lakeview might have been better because there's more people your age and more bars/restaurants.

O'Donnovan's, which is right down the street, has some of the best bloody mary's and burgers for the price in that neck of the woods. I miss that area.

Lakeview was much more expensive than where we picked. We got our 2 bdrm apt for only 900/month and they allowed our lg breed dog (lab/great dane) & our cat without pet deposits. Wecouldnt find anything like that in Lakeview. Plus, this neighborhood seemed far more dog friendly (more grass & trees, etc). Am I wrong?

You're less than a mile from Lakeview anyway. (You're technically only 2 blocks away but you're just under a mile away from the closest "main" dining/entertainment corridor in Lakeview.) If you really need what Lakeview has to offer, you can hop in your car and be there in 3 minutes or hop on a bus or the Brown Line and be there in 7 minutes. Even so, there's plenty to do in North Center and vicinity for those times you just don't feel like making the arduous journey all the way over to Lakeview.

My wife and I have lived in this neighborhood since 2006 and love it. Some great eating places along Lincoln going up to Lincoln Square. Ribfest is going on in mid-June, the Old Town Folk Festival is in July. Dog friendly? Almost everyone in my condo building has a dog (or two or three). Good luck and welcome...I think you'll love it as much as we do.
