I have been apartment hunting all week, and your budget can get what your looking for. I saw a 2bd/2bth in Lincoln Park that was updated (it wasn't the best quality however) for $1800. I forget the street, but it was near Armitage and Racine.

I would say it depends on exact location.

It is going to be a stretch for the OP to get the specific apartment he/she wants in LP or East Lakeview/Central Lakeview, on that budget...although like others have said, you can get some nicer units if you are willing to live in the western sections of Lakeview (I would say west of Racine or even west of Southport).

For example, I just moved in, on May 1, to my almost-new 2-bed, 2-bath condo rental unit in the heart of Lakeview...it has all the amenities, elevator building, top floor, granite, with a balcony, with covered parking, etc etc, and I am paying a total of $2200/mo. This is $500 higher, per month, than what the OP is looking for...and this is in Lakeview, which is supposed to be a "more affordable" version of LP. But even then, it is not a true 2-bedroom, it is more like a 1-bed plus large den, and the second bathroom is only a half-bath, really (just a sink and a toilet).
