It's impossible to have a society where everyone is satisfied.
There will always be poor willing to attain more through violence.

Things like that are what made me move from Ukrainian Village to Logan Square awhile back. I've had a cop politely ask me and my friends to get some cups once since moving here, but it wasn't because anyone called it in.

weird, Ukrainian Village along Chicago Avenue between Western and Damen can get pretty crazy without much cop interference on weekends, or at least it could a year ago.

Anyway, I was really hoping that Sun Times (or Trib, I don't remember) story about Billy Corgan's brother getting his ipod stolen while he was riding the El and listening to Nelly Furtado would launch our crime spree plight into the national spotlight!

Just goes to show how rubbish most people actually are then, in doing that...

Thumbs down..

Obviously this wasn't what i was talking about, it's pretty clear to tell the difference between a guy having a beer outside his place and a group of bangers pounding natural ice on the corner. One of them is an obvious coomunity disturbance.

To each his own i guess, i'd appreciate the police presence and Ukie has turned into a pretty nice place, I'm sure the aggresive policing helped.

But the honest reality is, most of the time i'm calling or texting the fuzz involves creepy drunks in the park who come in all shapes and sizes and corner boys throwing down some cold ones while selling rock on the side.

There was no implication of race in my post. And I shouldn't get jumped on by the race baiting crowd for explaining the obvious difference between a guy smoking a cigar and drinking a beer in front of his place and more unsavory deliquent behavior.
