Thank you chet and odina for the information. As a result, to maximize my chances of transferring successfully, I wanted a good look into the city college system. My hands are forced at this moment. I will work hard to get a 4.0, but I fear that may not be enough if the community college is less than stellar. I am also searching for a volunteer opportunity in the city to help bolster my EC.

I went by Harold Washington again and spoke to the administration. I was simply given a list of Gen Eds to complete and told the requirements of enrolling in the college. I also asked about transfers but, again, the adviser spoke about DePaul, Loyola, UIUC, and UIC. I fear my chances of transferring into top tier universities may be bleak from this college.

Does anyone have a more information regarding transfers to Northwestern or other similar colleges from the community college around the city?

I don't meet to sound rude, but if you can't afford USC, and I know the cost since I was a Trojan Parent (kid thankfully now graduated), how are you going to afford Northwestern?

Here is another suggestion. Go to UIC or UICU. Major in something similar to bioengineering and then go to graduate school.

Also I agree about going to College Confidential. Not only the transfer forum, but also the parents and the UICU forums.
