I don't live in Illinois anymore, but it's where I was raised and I still consider it my "home" State; so, it was with a great, great thrill that I saw that creep Blagojavich finally got "his" yesterday with the 17 felony indictments.
NOW to see what he gets insofar as his time to serve.
My sinking feeling is that they will give him 2 years because of his "good" service in government.
Ryan and Blago are a disgrace to politics and Illinois.

So I punched a man once in the cheek at McDonald's and he turned out to be 60 yrs old and they gave me a felony for that. I could have gotten 5 years in prison but I got a good lawyer and got 30 months probation. But no one would hire me during probation.

I should have done the prosecutor's plea deal for 3 months prison and no felony. I have been rejected for many jobs and Apts for a felony.

Why not just lie on applications and say you are not a felon? If they don't actually check, no body knows. No point in volunteering that info, no body wants to deal with a felon.

Yeah...that's all his Probation Officer needs is for him to lie on job interviews. What a totally stupid idea. Obviously, you would like for this fellow to end up back where he began?
Do you not think his Probation Officer will check with his job about his status?
Good grief....think!

^What's to make you think he's on probation?

My probation ended in 2004 or 2005. During that time for jobs I couldn't lie about the felony because I had to go to the probation officer monthly. One company I applied for and interviewed twice at for jobs I perfectly fit walked me out the door twice for my felony. In the 2nd interview on the application I didn't answer the part about - "do you have a felony?" But the Sr citizen interviewer was insistent and had to ask if I had a felony. Had to tell the truth and he was merciless to my explanation and just walked me out.

Now I successfuly interviewed with Schlumberger in Houston while in Chicago for a long distance phone interview and I got hired. Packed up a minivan full of stuff and moved down to Houston. 1st day at Schlumberger I had to fill an employment application and it asked if I had a felony. I lied, and my recruiter told me to lie - I guess he backed me up. So I worked this temp job to completion for 6 months but I wasn't extended or transferred to subsea work when I applied for it. I guess they knew by then...

I have a felony pardon with the Gov now, I hope he pardons me and erases my felony.

Everyone makes mistakes in life (some worse than others of course) but we all deserve a second chance. I hope you get your felony erased soon. Good luck!

This thread has gotten off topic, so I'll return to it now.

I want to say "Good riddance" to Blagojovich, but who knows how many appeals he will get. Hopefully this will all be over soon and he can finally be locked away.

Nope. They're both sociopaths. I'm normally against the death penalty, but a good old fashioned hanging would send a much stronger message then jail time. Oh, well, we have to take what we can get.
