Went up there, checked it out, it was awful. Mercifully, it has already closed.

But since this thread started I've had a couple of Mexican restaurant revelations, one in Gladstone Park right where Elston and Milwaukee intersect called Tanzitiro (http://www.tanzitarogrillelatino.com/index.shtml - broken link), and the other on Milwaukee between Pulaski and Addison called La Oaxaqueña. The former does mostly gringo-Mexican (in addition to their Guatemalan menu) but they do it so well. They turned me on to the idea of mixing carne asada and chorizo together in a burrito. The latter is more authentic but even most of their scary-to-gringos Mexican dishes are extremely well prepared. They have the best al pastor pork I've had anywhere so far, I love their octopus salad, and their dark mole sauce is freakin' killer.

Oh, another great upscale Mexican place that gets criminally overlooked (probably due to location) is Sol de Mexico on Cicero Avenue a couple blocks south of Belmont.

This place is an LTH favorite. My wife actually wanted to go there on Mothers Day. Great Oaxacan food, with multiple varieties of mole. Typically we are the only Gringos in the place, but we're used to that since my wife often takes us all over the city in search for some specific obscure ethnic dish she wants to try.
