Default Area around Courthouse

Hi,

I have a meeting (not a court date, thankfully) at the criminal courthouse at 26th and Cal on Monday and will be going via public transportation from the loop. Is it safe to walk the 6 blocks or so from the pink line stop? Or would it be better to take a bus that goes up to the door or pony up for cab?

That's a fairly sucky area, but by the time you wait for a bus from the train station to the courthouse, you might as well have walked, unless a southbound bus just happens to be rolling along as you get off the platform to street-level. That six block walk will take you just over 10 minutes. You're not likely to come into any substantial trouble in those 10 minutes.

Oh, and a cab? At the California Pink Line stop? You're more likely to hitchhike a ride from a hovercraft or a flying manatee.

So, in summary: take the train, hoof it from there while keeping an eye on your surroundings, and you should be fine.
