I guess I'm just honestly curious what people perceive the difference of the two neighborhoods to be.

Is one of them supposed to be more edgy while the other is more family-friendly?

^Probably because I don't think of six corners as being part of Bucktown, I tend to think of B-Town as being the sleepier of the two. I always loved the area right around Holstein Park and when I think of B-Town that, and the Map Room for sure, are what I think of.

I suppose, (though it should also be noted you posted no links to "publications") but just because they think it doesn't make it less wrong. Neighborhoods are historical entities with boundaries that mean something -- you can't just change them willy nilly because you want to. This annoys me to no end here in Kansas City -- my neighborhood is Volker, but no one calls it that it seems -- except for the residents who have a very active association. I get everything: Midtown, Westport, 39th St West, kU Med area, the Plaza, uhhh Kansas City?

Ignorance of, or disregard for, the true borders of a neighborhood, no matter what person or publication does so, is something that's always going to get my panties in a twist.

Grey area? No. Confusion, lack of knowledge? Sure. Heck even the Tribune on multiple occasions gets different neighborhood names wrong when reporting incidents - examples have been posted on this forum before. 2 + 2 doesn't equal 5, even if a lot of people say otherwise.
