Typo. I meant "saying this *are* non-white" not "around." I'm curious if any actual black people believe this, or if this is the theory of white people observing from a distance.

Can't answer for black people. But I can tell you I could care less (and people in my circle) what nationality/ethnicity/race one is. If the person is a thug? That's a different story.

Agreed, but other people have. It's hard to reply to multiple posters, showing what part of each post I'm replying to. I did not mean to criticize you in any way.

My question was are any of the people saying this around non-white?
I was questioning your sentence construction, not your logic.

I don't know the skin colors of the various posters, so they will have to answer for themselves. I'm white.

well you saw my thread earlier this week lincoln park
I think you will get a bad vibe regardless of your socio-economic status.
accept for around the depaul, people around there are more liberal.
rush/division,lakeview and wriglyville, i think a blk dude who dress's and talks
white ""white"" in those areas will be fine. I go to a gym in lakeview and I have had no problems and the head instructors is Black in a mostly white class for kickboxing.
Rush/division can be hit or miss depending on how many suburbanites and or tourist are there.

I think even alot of african Americans who are educated come off as urban "" innercity like in their language or mannerism. In country club hills you have alot of middle class black the median income is like 57,999, but kids still use slang and ebonics in their speech and so do I occasional. Also some people still have a BLK accent that might come from living around an african american household. similar to southerners.

to a middle class white person these mannerism might come off as different,
and lead to the vibe that some people are experiencing.Edgewater, uptown, bucktown all seem to be more accepting of some level blk and spanish culture, because hipster tend to be more liberal
than LP yuppies.
