Chicago, Philly, New York rap will always be the best...
I never liked southern hip hop and even hip hop from my home town st. louis for that matter.
You can chill out and relax to chicago hip hop
Lupe, Kanye, and Common need to start an empire in Chicago like JayZ and P-Diddy have in NYC.
Anyway i heard Jay and Kanye have been having problems.

What's really sad is that people who were around to watch Common come up from the underground scene knows the true raw emcee talent that he posesses is wasted with the watered down version that you see today. You can make the argument in hip hop that once it's packaged for the masses the music becomes watered down and unoffensive. Most of the stuff you hear on the radio may sound like hip hop but feels nothing like it. No more talk of inequality or REAL issues and problems that plagued these artists in every day life. The current climate is infested with grills, supermans, gold chains and video girls. I feel that Twista, Do or Die, and Crucial Conflict who in my opinion are better representatives of Chicago hip hop who "kept it real." Call me an old timer but I'll stick with emcees that have something to say.

R. KELLY is Chicago's top hip-hop star and contribution to the scene worldwide.
He's the best selling artist located here, BY FAR.
He's been number 1 in Chicago for a long, long time. He hit number 1 on the hip-hop charts in 2007. No denying it.

The south supports itself by putting rappers on each others mixtapes just look at what retarded DJ Khaled has been able to do (he is oh so annoying!)
The next city that is up and coming.. DALLAS they got the current high school kids dancen to all their new music
Chicago is for the older adults... and the fact that Kanye just came out with "LOVE LOCKDOWN" didnt proves he cant avoid what the south has created(tpain with that machine sound out of FLORIDA)
Chicago cant run the rap game... its just not the South.
And New York has legends (Jay Z, NAS, P Diddy..) and LA is just the West West (even though its fading as of late)

First and foremost- UGK isn't from Houston- secondly half of the rappers you've just named are radio rappers and don't have any skill at all- The only rapper on your list that's getting any major spins across the country right now is Mike Jones with that "Cutty Buddy" joint- funny because he needed Twista (from Chicago) on the track to make the song half way decent. Don't get me wrong Scarface, UGK, and Chamillionare are good/ great Hip Hop artist- but don't think for a second that Houston is running the Hip Hop game right now- maybe back in 05....
