Wrong. WTF? That's not even some esoteric thing that only a CTA fanboy would know, that's a totally common-knowledge thing so I'm not sure how you'd drop the ball with that.

I'd rather fly out of Milwaukee. The much lower fees that WI has for airlines can shave off enough that baggage fees are of no consequence. Kayak and other sites make it easy to "compare nearby airports"...

I would take the Omega shuttle if the schedule lines up with your flights

That used to be a great way. But now it's $45.00 per person. That's about (maybe a little less than) what a cab would cost and a cab can be shared.

Particularly if doing this on the return will save you another $120.
Just two of us - Yep potentially we could save another $120 bringing the total to $240 and all are wheeled bags.

As we are flexibile with our travel time(flight leaves at 6pm at ORD and hence can arrive at MWD anytime during the day) we want to make sure MWD to ORD is do-able in 2-3 hours, otherwise its no-brainer to fly into ORD and pay the darn bag fees.

$120 maybe chump change for some but for us its our hard earned money!

Cab is out of question - since 4 heavy baggage and 2 carry-ons and 2 adults won't fit in a single cab.
A shuttle doesn't cut it out either - $45 for each person + tips.

The only economical way was CTA.

So sue me. I've never actually made this trip. Now I know.

Sure they will. I've done it. You can fit 2 large suitcases + carry on in the trunk easily. Maybe 3 large suitcases. The remaining 1 or 2 larges take up 2/3 of the back seat, leaving room for one passenger to sit shotgun and another to sit in the back.

The entire idea seems like a huge gamble though. $120 to your destination with all of that work + the risk of missing the flight and bing SOL (having to probably pay $100 a pop to rebook later, not to mention screwing up your itenerary)....then doing it on the way home again, where the re-schedule woulnt be a huge hassle with SW, but you'll probably be dead tired by the time you deplane at O'Hare anyway after your vacation.

Personally, it just doesn't add up to me.

If you can't offer any suggestion to my Q, appreciate if you don't respond to my posting.

that's why in my initial posting i had only mentioned doing it from MDW to ORD but you are right doing it on the way back isn't worth it since the jet lag, trans-continental flight and I just want to get home thoughts
