I thought of a couple more places that are open past midnight. Lorraine's Diner on Chicago and Damen is a great cheap diner (with great soup too!) that's open 24 hours and doesn't really mind if you just nurse a cup of coffee and read for a while. Flash Taco on 6 corners is also open pretty late, until at least 3 on the weekends, but the food leaves a little something to be desired.

Hollywood Grill and Blue Angel are two of my favorite 24 hour places.

^^The food at Hollywood is a little questionable. I've found a few bonus prizes in my eggs and a sandwich I had the couple times I went. Now I just stick to coffee there.

There used to be a place on Lincoln and Foster, Cozy Corner Cafe. After a night of getting tanked up, we'd head there at 3 am for a 2 buck breakfast. Ahh, good times they were.
