Late Night Coffee Houses (Chicago, Lincoln: neighborhoods, living in, restaurants)

I am looking for a coffee house (one that serves mainly coffee, teas, etc - not a diner) that is open fairly late as in 11 or 12 at night. The area I'm looking for would be around Lincoln Park or else in the Loop (or anywhere in between) and preferably not very expensive. Free Wi-Fi is always a plus.

There was another location open Sun-Thurs until 11pm and Friday-Saturday until Midnight---called Uncommon Ground....not sure what area of Chicago (sorry)...but there ph# is 773-929-3680


Hope these help.....I am moving to Chicago in a few months and need to get into the habit of doing reference librarian service....so I hope you are able to locate a coffee house from the link provided or one of the locations I was able to find.....

Pick Me Up Cafe is at Clark and Roscoe, and I belive they are open until 2-3am during the week and 24 hours on the weekend. Or at least they used to be.

The Starbucks on Welles is open 24 hours.

I am always up until at least midnight, but usually I'm up until sunrise, in general is chicago "up late" or do the number of things to do drop off completely after 9pm? or whatever time? I have this problem where I am now but then again im not living in a city...

I think there are things to do after 9, maybe exluding Sunday. I'd imagine many bars, especially in LP are active past that time on weekdays.

Personally I am often up as sunrise approaches as my "job" sometimes requires me to be.

There isn't the all night party scene like in New York, but there is plenty going on past nine. Rush St, Division St aren't even getting started by then.

I tend to stay up late, and I'd say from Thursday to Saturday nights there are many neighborhoods with people up 24 hours a day out walking around. I've been out at 3am, 4am, 5am, etc. going home or out walking, and I'm never alone.

Sunday is a mix, and Monday-Wednesday are slower after midnight or so, but there are still plenty of areas out there that are busier.

most areas of the city are quiet during the middle of the night through. With such high density you're always going to find SOME people out there...

If you're gay, into dancing, or into drinking in bars there are plenty of late night/early morning venues available to you.
