Kudos to lisak64 who brought up Goldyburgers--hole in the wall place with a real cooked burger (tastes like you made it yourself).

Default Best Burgers

Have you ever heard of Hackney's? They are a local chain that started in Glenview. They have the best burgers!!! Order one with swiss cheese on pumpernickel, yum! Hackneys has locations across the city and suburbs. Check out their site: Hackney's Restaurants and Catering

The last time I went to Kuma's Corner I couldn't even get in the front door because every square inch of the place was packed with human beings. Someone literally would have had to leave for another to get in the door. It was only 6:30 p.m. I don't care how good the burgers are, that's just not worth it! Moody's, here I come!

Was Kuma's Corner just on "Check Please" or something? It's like every Lakeview resident decided to head west that night.

Speaking of Lakeview, I love the note on their beer menu next to the Samichlaus listing: "14% ABV. So careful, Cubs fans: 2 = DUI."

I also love the painting on wall to the left of the bar, a cartoon bear with blood all over his muzzle, simply proclaming: "Meat."

Kumo's Corner is a weird place.

I have no problem with that though. That place is a throwback---that is the way bars used to be. If you want a Bud Bar,Miller Bar,Schiltz Bar you went to them. Maybe they could be more diverse, but they are still in business, no one really is complaining enough to destroy their business. People go for the burgers anyway...

There are some bars that have dozens of beers and liquor to choose from like
Delilah's---now that is a bar you should check out.;-)I think you would like it.
Delilah’s Chicago

Quenchers has a huge selection also, although it is not really my cup of tea...
