Is Beverly View and Beverly Woods the same as Beverly?

Thanks again, everyone. I feel like we'll probably be looking around the Hyde Park/South Loop area.

And are East Hyde Park and West Hyde Park the same as Hyde Park? I know in NYC, realtors try to trick newcomers by calling Crown Heights "East Williamsburg."

Beverly View nor Beverly Woods is Beverly. Anyway, if you're going to be working in Skokie, I'd forget about Beverly. It would be a great commute for your boyfriend, probably less than 1/2 hour, but a nightmare for you. If you're REALLY lucky your commute would be an hour or so. At worst, it could be over 2 hours.

East Hyde Park is Hyde Park, but to me Hyde Park, while nice, is somewhat dull. Not much nightlife there. Most people go north for that. Also, it still would be a bit south for your commute.

I'm also going to be a dissenting voice here, and say go for a neighborhood you love. I did a commute from Bucktown to Northbrook for a couple of years. Yeah, it wasn't the greatest, but I was much happier living in Bucktown, than I would've been in an area closer to Northbrook.

South Loop wouldn't be too bad for either of your commutes, and it's urban enough, and close enough to the north side nightlife to keep you guys happy.
