Default Moving to Chicago...Need some advice

Me and my fiance' are planning on moving to Chicago this time next year. I am really excited about the move but he is a little on the iffy side. We are moving from Atlanta, Georgia and I am looking forward to experiencing the diversity that Chicago has to offer because we don't get that down here. My plan is to live in the inner city and rent my first year then purchase a home. I would love to purchase a home in the city also but financially, I don't know how realistic that is for me since the properties are so expensive. I would like to know what are the best, growing, inexpensive, safe neighborhoods to look into. Also, We will need jobs. I can do anything but my experience is in the Juvenile Court System and I am currently going to school for Accounting/Finance. I won't have a degree when I move so I don't know if that will help me. I also do Real Estate investing on the side which is my first love. My fiance' is currently working under aprenticeship as a barber. Obviously he's not licensed but his goal is to go to school when we move and get a license and hopefully open his own shop. So if anyone have any resources or connections on the job thing, that would be great. I plan on transferring to Chicago State when I move. Is this a good school? I need a school that caters more toward the working adult. All advice is welcome. Thanks!

Chciago State caters toward continuing education students. My mom went to CSU and she is pretty smart .
CSU is just a few blocks from the 95th st red line station no matter where you live you shouldn't be more than a 45 min train ride from school.

The hot area for 20 ish adults right now is Wicker Park. Its safe, diverse, and full of nightlife.

Forget about the Juvenile Court job thing, those type of jobs go to relatives of Cook County Board members only.

Thank you for the advice. It's good to hear good things about Chicago State I am really interested in that school. Thanks for warning me on the Juvenile Court system. I was really hoping that I could put this behind me when I move.
