Recently, I've been very interested in urban neighborhoods in the Midwest, but I tend to get mixed reactions when I read about and discuss Chicago -- it seems very much neighborhood biases occur.

When I visit, my favorite is always Wicker Park/Bucktown (btw, is this considered one neighborhood or two?)...but I hear people defend Hyde Park, Lincoln Park, and even Wrigleyville as being better.

SO, Please rank your top 5 favorite Urban neighborhoods in Chicago (based on livability, amenities, etc)

I used to like the South Loop but now I'm heartily sick of it.

The answers will be different, depending on whether you're asking for tourism purposes, or living purposes. It seems to me you're coming at this from a tourist viewpoint. Why not tell us what your interests are, and then the responses will be better formed.
