Cafe' Selmarie in Lincoln Square. One of the original and last remaining european bakery-cafes in a neighborhood which many years ago was like being in Europe.

Every foodie knows about Selmarie. That secret is way out of the bag.

Cool. Teasers was one of my main hangouts...open 'til 5am and all. Then to Stone Park and/or one of the key clubs. There was another club on Central at Milwaukee and Foster run by Chicago cops. Needless to say, it never got busted.

Used to go there for Hawks games when crowds would actually show up for home games that were available only on satellite (thanks to the dearly departed owner). That tradition ended when the team went downhill a decade ago, and I guess it'll never return now that they're finally putting the home games on TV.
