Our King (Mayor) could care less about the people here, outside of the downtown area excluding a few places on the far southwest and northwest sides of the cith are are arm-pits.
Some of the best places in this city have been ruined by all the blacks and hispanics moving there, (section 8 housing) They powers that be move these low-life people out of the projects into nice neighborhoods, then all goes to hell! drugs, gangs, crime. there is not one neighborhood in this entire city that has a majority of minorities, that is not crime-ridden. don't listen to these lincoln park liberal goofs, they never venture out anywhere west of western when the sun goes down. Basically the borders are 22nd street on the south, belmont on the north, western to the west and the lake.

Why the hell would I want to drive through the worst ghettos of LA? What exactly would that prove? That LA's ghettos suck? Like, whoa, stop the presses. Who'd have guessed?

Crime goes underreported everywhere. If you can provide credible evidence that it happens substantially more so in LA than anywhere else, then I suppose your point will be taken. Until then, the official stats are the most reliable indicator we have to go by, and LA's crime rate is, at worst, middle of the pack for America's major urban centers.

Thanks in advance!
Yes, as you say it is impossible, can you narrow down the search, by job location or likes/dislikes??? Because as you can see by all the responses-lots of different options & opinions!

Yea, you said that on the other thread.

If I were to pick a cop neighborhood as the safest, it probably wouldn't be Mt Greenwood.

It is Edison Park.

This is obviosly a south sider trying to lure business in. North side has the lowest crime rate in the city.

Just because a place has more crime doesn't mean EVERYONE will see crime there.

My point is that a person is not taking his or her life in his or her hands by living on the south side. There are dangerous areas and times where you can situate yourself and there are dangerous acts which you can do. If you avoid those you may be ok. But, brothers and sisters, crime happens everywhere.
I'm going to guess you live in Hyde Park.

I love it when otherwise "suburban" types who- for whatever reason- wind up in the UC part of Hyde Park proclaim themselves "southsiders" and proudly puff out their chests, clad with the imaginary "Badge Of Urban Toughness" as if living the wee little oasis that is the University area of Hyde Park remotely represents the aura and reputation associated with the Southside at-large.

As to your original comment, it's worth noting that your timeline suggests you moved from the Northside to the Southside 30 years ago; many northside communities that are standard-bearers for "great Chicago life" today were ****holes 30+ years ago, where seeing someone shot wouldn't have been too far outside of the norm.

Unfortunately, in the real world most people don't fit into one of your two neat little categories -- real people vs. psuedo-hipster self-righteous hypocritical liberals.
