Default Question on job search in Chicago

Hi - I grew up on the NW Side of Chicago and lived there until I finished grad school. Currently living in Manhattan and thinking of moving back to Chicago. For those of you that have relocated recently, did you relocate first and than find a job or vice versa? Did you have luck getting interviews/job offers from out of state? I have lived in some places that are known to be difficult if you are an "outsider" and others that there was no problem.

I have an MBA and will be looking for something in supply-chain management/international transportation/biz developmentt/procurement (if that makes a difference)!

Have been so busy lately that I haven't even had a chance to contact my contacts or even start any type of search.

Thanks!
