From Monmouth to Chicago...
I have friends south of Chicago in Monmouth, IL. They will be coming up for one day just to visit. If possible they would like to avoid renting a car. What is the best way for them to get to the city (downtown) without a car? They would be leaving probably around 7 or 8 am and staying until about 8 or 9 in the evening. Thanks!

I think they should take Amtrak from Galesburg to Chicago's downtown.
