Hi, all.

We moved back to Chicago recently, and we are looking for spots to go for some food, a couple of beers, and to watch some sports on tv. But what we're hoping for is the kind of place where a few sets of parents would be comfortable stopping by with their kids after a Little League game, or some such - so, not really so focused on alcohol (but it's available), and not really a place to go hunting for a date. Also, a place where a man without a date or friend with him COULD park it for a couple of hours to watch some March Madness (or whatever) in a sociable setting.

We are in Beverly, so somewhere southwest would be nice, but other suggestions are also very welcome.

In case it is helpful to someone out there, we most recently came from Austin, and some places there that we liked to go were Billy's on Burnet, the Crown & Anchor, and Posse East.

Thanks for any tips you might have!!

Maybe try Buffalo Wild Wings (BW3)? I think it's kid friendly and lotso TV's and sports all the time...there is one just West of Beverly...or go to there website and see if there is a different location that works better...there are quite a few of them...

We used to got our pizza from Vito & Nick's II (sort of related but not really, or maybe yes, can't figure it out from their websites) in Hickory Hills. It was thin crust, cut in squares not wedges, and it was about the best pizza we ever had.

Based on the quality of the pizza, and the name of the restaurant, we started calling it, 'The pizza you can't refuse'.

Chief O'Neils. Very family oriented with a real nice beer garden. Went there on St. Paddy's and it was nothing but families. However it's very hit or miss. Sometimes it will be packed other times it will be dead empty..

Chief O'Neils is no where near Beverly though, or Southwest of Beverly for that matter, which I think is what the OP was looking for..but they do have a great beer garden

Well, I asked for it, when I said "other suggestions are also very welcome." Yes, Chief O'Neill's looks kind of far away, but it also looks like it might warrant an afternoon outing sometime - so, definitely no harm done! Thank you again, everyone!
