It would be except DePaul's main campus is right in the middle of LP. The "grown-up" parts of Lincoln Park, namely those on the fringes near the lake or in the Old Town sub-section of LP, have a fairly high average age because those are older, bigger homes and are very expensive; meaning, you have to be old enough to have accumulated a fair degree of wealth to afford living there. But right in the middle of it all is student-quality housing with a student-type atmosphere.

Unless you live in the immediate vicinity of an area with a lot of bars, Clark st in Wrigleyville, Lincoln Ave in Lincoln Park, Southport in Lakeview, you don't really have to worry about the noise, or people peeing in your alley, or snorting coke off the hood of your car.
I live in Western Lakeview (Roscoe Village), and one of the things most out of town visitors comment on is how quiet the neighborhood is at night. And yet, when I want to put on my striped shirt and lie to women about the importance of my job, all of those nightlife areas are only a 5-10 dollar cab ride away.

I lived in Lakeview a few years ago and loved it. I would say it's more laid back than Lincoln Park and less "snobby". The rents are a bit cheaper in Lakeview, the apartments larger and it's less congested.

Though barely so on all three counts. IMO they're so close to each other on these counts that it's a difference without a distinction.
