So according to your flawed logic calling Roscoe Village a "fairly long commute" to downtown (at 30 minutes) you should be calling the commute from "East Humboldt Park" a fairly long commute to downtown as well.

LookoutKid can attest to this.
Yep. I can be downtown in fifteen minutes if I use bus tracker and the LSD traffic is good. I previously lived in Lincoln Park and Wicker Park, and my commute from Uptown is the shortest I've ever had.

There are more than one express bus that go through Uptown to Downtown.

Examples:
135 Starts at Wilson and Clarendon. Makes stops down to Belmont then runs express to Wacker and Columbus.
136 Starts at Devon and Broadway. Makes stops until Bittersweet then runs express to Wacker and Columbus.
144 Starts at the Berwyn Red Line station. Makes stops until Irving Park then runs express to Delaware and Michigan.
145 Starts at Ravenswood and Lawrence. Makes stops down to Belmont then runs express to Delaware and Michigan.

148 Starts at Ravenswood and Lawrence. Makes stops until Irving Park then runs express to Delaware and Michigan.

The 136, 144, and 148 are the key to living in Buena Park. I had planned on walking over the Sheridan Red Line for my daily commute when I first moved here, but quickly realized that we struck commuting gold with these buses. My wife often drives and can be downtown in ten minutes using LSD. Irving Park Road doesn't jam up like Belmont either, so it's actually easier to get downtown from here than many points further south.

Alright, I'm not trying to be difficult I'm just curious to your commute time. So let's say for example I worked at 1 N. Wacker and needed to be at work at 8:30 a.m. every day -- what time would you leave your house? That's all I'm getting at. And if you can leave your house at 8:10. That's fantastic and I stand corrected.

Now for me I'd have to walk out my door at 8:00 to ensure I got there at 8:30.

Avengefire when I mentioned Roscoe Village , I was commenting on actual brown line commute which is about 30 minutes at rush hour. And it would depend where you lived (closeness to the El) to determine actual door to door. My actual blue line commute is about 10 minutes. Obviously this has gotten too confusing and I should place smiley faces on some things I said.

You keep changing your commute time every time you post.

I think you are starting to confuse yourself.

This is assuming one lives within a block or so of Marine Drive.

A) Use bus tracker to time catching the bus 136 Sheridan/LaSalle Express.

B) Leave around 7:54 am. Walk out the door and walk to Marine Drive.

C) Get on bus at Bittersweet and Marine Drive at about 7:59am. Arrive at Madison and Wacker at about 8:27am.

D) Walk to 1 N. Wacker. Arrive before 8:30am.

If one leaves before 7am the bus is scheduled to take about 20 minutes from Bittersweet to Wacker and Madison.

If LookoutKid says he pulls off regularly getting downtown very quickly taking an express bus why would you doubt him? I believe him. I have done it myself.

I currently live on Chicago a few blocks west of the Kennedy and work at Randolph and Wacker. It usually takes me 25-30 minutes. I'm not sure how someone who gets on before me, gets off after, and has a bus ride included has a quicker commute than me.

Avengefire -- your cutting and pasting things out of context, do you work in broadcast media?. I said in my last post I would leave my house at 8:00 to ensure I arrived at the office, in this case 1 N. Wacker at 8:30. And I've said all along that a typical commute is 25 to 30 minutes from where I live.

And I wasn't doubting Lookout's commute, just wanted to know the time of day since that makes a big difference on LSD (hmm... I'll just leave that).

^ Out of context? How is that? Perhaps you need to read again what you wrote previously. ^

I would like to see you attempt to address Jdiddy's query.
