No, a couple of detours and maybe peeking inside of bags at the train stations is an inconvenience. These measures are a tremendous burden. And it remains to be seen if this is just for one weekend.

The reason they need to "suspend" our rights is due to the "fear" occupy and other protestors have tried to instill. I say stay in your own cities. Don't come And march your hatred down our streets. Your protests will never stop big gov or big business.

I don't like being inconvenienced for the sake of a bunch of big-shots. I'm not a kneescraping lackey, rubberbacked head nodder or servile bootlicker and refuse to think like one.

It is either 31st or 35th to Balbo on Lake Shore Drive that will be closed from Sunday 12:00am to Monday 5:00pm(?)

Don't know if that was already posted... thought I would give my two cents.

Short of NOT having NATO, or any event that attracts protesters, how would you handle this?

The way I understand this it's terrorists and assasins they fear, not protesters. If it's assasins and terrorists they fear they simply shouldn't have it here. If it's protesters they fear they should back off and be reasonable and handle it as a police matter not one of national security.

Depending on how the world media portrays Chicago, it is possibly and definitely a good thing for the rest of the world to be shown a few things about this city and its welcoming to various peoples. I guess a few people don't want that though because they still want the city to be their "hipster" ideal with the "I knew about Chicago 20 years before you did" type of attitude.

$$$$. I just don't see the big deal some people are raising for a two day event. To each their own though. I will go on living my life how I do every single day before, during, and after this event.

So, I was just reading the Oak Lawn village newsletter. Cars parked in the Metra garage have to be moved out no later then 1 hour after the last train arrives. Would someone care to explain to me how a car parked in Oak Lawn poses a threat to NATO?
